Map Of Midgard update: The Norðreginskort is at Bookmans River!

If you don't happen to ever be near Nexus Occult Books, and/or are "trade rich", you can now go get NorsePlay's new The Map Of The Norse Gods at Bookmans River!

Head over to the jewelry bay along the south wall just past the cashiers, then look west and up on the slat wall above the cases to behold the Norse Lore-based cartographical glory!

This second map will be the largest in the Map Of Midgard series at an impressive 20"x30", printed on heavy 65# acid-free parchment paper with archival ink, this map is of heirloom quality that should last for five generations at least. Prints are $60 USD each, and a prestigious glass & wood framed version is $120 USD (which should be available from River next month [but if you want it now, do go to Nexus!]).

Note that map purchase includes complimentary Gmail account access to a matching digital map with source data and even more GPS coordinates! One example from the 143 digital stickpins:

So if Ragnarök was coming, Hoddmímis Holt is the only bomb shelter that survives it, and you could use those GPS coordinates to flee there at some point of the strife-filled three-year-long global winter before it's too late -- yes, owning this map might very well save your life and the human race itself! And in this digital map you can scroll at right on each and every rollover to read the equally fascinating full stories on all entries!

Those of you who've bought the Óðinnsvegr: The Path Of Odin map (and thank you for doing so!) might be asking in terms of data what the difference is between Odin appearing on the Norðreginskort with all the Gods compared to the Path map with just him. Because of chosen scale and area density to fit the other deities on the Norðreginskort there's a smaller number of 39 Odinic stickpins versus the more focused 54 stickpins on the Óðinnsvegr, so this second map doesn't negate the first at all, it only compliments it by showing many of Odin's appearances in a larger context with all his fellow Æsir & the Vanir.

In making this map, I have to give a extra-special thanks to Robert Pfeffer for his generous permission to use Pfeffer Mediæval, his historically-based yet modern accessible Carolingian Insular font. If I'd've had to pick anything else, I'd've been less than happy with this final result. Robert's letters are seriously the medievalist's chef's kiss on this mapping project.

Huge, huge, huge props must go to Fantasy Map Shop cartographer Edwin Menzo for his patience in the back & forth design directions it took to get the Norðreginskort produced. Working remotely with someone using a software whose limitations a client (being me!) doesn't understand takes added time, high levels of technical communication, and intuitive finesse towards completion, and this map very well may not have happened if it wasn't for Edwin having all that and more, and I can't say thanks to him enough (and I look forward to potentially producing more maps with him in the future).
