hail the chocolate of Thor?

Image
While I would hope the cacao would hammer out a chocolate darker than 70%, this isn't to say if Thor doesn't conche this right it's not going to taste darker, yet 77% tends to be the standard for dark bars. And while this Mexican can tell you "white chocolate" isn't actual chocolate mass, it's cocoa butter, the company has also made a Freya bar in this style for those of you who like that faux confectionary byproduct: The missed opportunity here is a Sæhrímnir bacon bar. At $10 USD a 3 oz bar, it really depends how good these are. If Thor's Chocolate wants to send NorsePlay a sampler to review, I wouldn't say no, but I'm not going to pull any punches in my taster's notes since I'm seriously spoiled in terms of the bars I have tried. Have any of you NorsePlayers had these? Let us know how they taste in the comments below! #     #    # Guillermo Maytorena IV knew there was something special in  the Norse Lore when he picked up a copy of t...

Odin & Thor are watching you from Valheim.

Image
When Valheim from Iron Gate Studios released in February 2021 CE, it blew up & sold 5M copies in its first month! Watching the initial gaming streams of it, Valheim looked too grindy for my liking, and the premise that there was a separated 10th world also seemed repeated from Marvel Thor back in 2013 CE where Odin cuts off & hides a whole unknown Realm as vengeance for the occupants apparently killing his daughter (and yes, that storyline's a ridiculously heavy-handed retcon for the sake of inserting of Angela from Spawn as Thor's incredibly angry sister [!?!], do not recommend), but then I heard that the Gods make cameo s : The horizon also has a gargantuan view of Yggdrasil looming in the distance as a contextual setpiece. As an aside, there's also a weird craft called The Tolroko Flyer from an unpublished earlier game that can only be unlocked via a cheat, but it doesn't do anything other than litter the landscape & look anachronistic. What I can...

we bid you take your place on the glorious megaramps of Sk8halla.

Given the Vikings' clever use of the metatarsal bones of horses or cattle to craft tie-on ice skates, we would imagine that if ball bearing trucks had been around they'd've figured out a way to darkslide an enemy's shieldwall or rail grind the gunwale of a foemen's longship. This isn't so far from the Gods of wintersport Ullr & Skaði  skiing, or possibly snowboarding, while bowhunting. [Olaus Magnus’ 1555 CE illustration of Holler (Ullr) on his magic rune inscribed water-crossing bone (skate).] And if we look at Njál's Saga 's Skarphéðinn's epic jump & superslide across the ice move to split Þráinn's skull as he glides by, one could easily see them adapting such worthy feats with wheels to Gleam The Axe. drink the blood of Nidhogg.

Image
We've read this black sour has oak notes, which makes sense if the dragon gnaws for all-time on the one of the three tree roots that holds the Nine Worlds in place, so really any consumable by-product of said dragon would taste of said World Tree wood. In any case, we applaud whatever efforts are being made to bleed this wyrm of entropy dry and thereby save Yggdrasil . Plus given the benefits of dragonblood consumption to Sigurd in the Saga of the Volsungs , understanding birdspeak may very well be a side-enhancement from drinking this. If any of you have tried this brew , do give us a review in the comments below and let us know what those birds really have to say about things . the hammer of beers.

Image
Like its namesake, this Canadian brewed barley wine ale takes care of business. Yet with even a head smashing 11.5% strength it's still got enough carmel & dried fruit notes to dress its brutal intentions up nicely, if you can get past the frustrating gold wax dipped & sealed bottlecap! #    #    # Guillermo Maytorena IV knew there was something special in  the Norse Lore when he picked up a copy of the d'Aulaires'  Norse Gods and Giants  at age seven. a Mjölnir from the future.

Image
In the grim future of Warhammer 40K there is only war, and within the arsenal of these wars are powerful melee weapons which include an obvious derivative of Mjölnir, the Thunder Hammer . These warhammers have a concussive energy field which emits when they hit their target and sounds like thunder. This unpainted version from this tabletop miniatures game in particular is wielded by the NorsePlay inspired Space Wolves, who use alot of rune decorations on their banners & power armor. We would love to see one of these crafted into an actual electro-superimpacting functional sidearm. #    #    # Guillermo Maytorena IV knew there was something special in  the Norse Lore when he picked up a copy of the d'Aulaires'  Norse Gods and Giants  at age seven. Scored this sweet steelbook Valhalla Edition copy of 𝙅ø𝙩𝙪𝙣  by Thunder Lotus Games for PC, which includes a nifty Valknut keychain fob, a toy miniature of protagonist Thora and her double-bladed battleaxe to wield, plus a bonus soundtrack CD. Featuring exploration of some the Nine Worlds, rune-based puzzles, and combat with jötunar bosses, we are really looking forward to giving this some controller-based NorsePlay. #    #    # Guillermo Maytorena IV knew there was something special in  the Norse Lore when he picked up a copy of the d'Aulaires'  Norse Gods and Giants  at age seven.
