A Younger Futhark alphabet classroom poster designed by Icelandic graphic artist Siggi Oddsson. It's neat seeing things like a helicopter and automobile as associated icons to help learn the runes and pull them forward in time to the present.

What's always bothered me about the iconic Torslunda helmet plates is there's wolfen Ulfhednar and boar-helmeted Svinfylking, but no actual bear-headed Berserkir since the former two are a specialized Fylgja-centric subset of the broader elite warrior Berserker category. Floki: The Fallen God series announced ... or not?

  4/2026 Addended Forward: This series has not materialized, and at this point  we suspect this image and its accompanying announcements were part and parcel of wishful thinking from fans on the internet whose posts gained enough search engine weight to seem a reality.  Otherwise it wouldn't be out of the question to think this had gotten tossed around actual pitch discussions at Netflix, and maybe the image was part of that? Either way, our initial post's fan-theory exploring the character is an interesting one relevant to the original series, whether Floki gets his own series or not, so I've added this forward to the original entry that follows to allow for what now seems to maybe be disinformation, and not deleting it on the outside chance that it's not. Map Of Midgard Project update: Final goal of 1000+ mappoints exceeded! What's next?

I've successfully plotted 1100+ mappoints for my Map Of Midgard Project! This is the ninth progress update since  the initial blog post ,  the first update ,  the second update ,  the third update ,  the fourth update ,  the fifth update ,  the sixth update , the seventh update , and the eighth update . What marks this as a watershed is that aggregating mappoints is now "complete", and the Map Of Midgard Project can move one huge step forward towards publishing physical maps! When originally starting this project over seven years ago , I imagined that there would be fewer than 100 mappoints. Then finding literature-to-location correspondences exponentially grew into far, far more than I'd imagined. Even with over 1100, there's more out there, but I feel that stickpinning a thousand-plus mappoints is a massive accomplishment and contribution of aggregation & original research to the field of Norse Lore.
