a very informational Yggdrasil. 🛈🌳
I've always admired the infographical design and layout of this Yggdrasil with its well-labeled icons showing the major figures and aspects in each of the Níu Heimar.
Big Sidenote: A thought provoking touch here is Máni actually facing defiantly towards Hati, which raises some NorsePlay possibilities. Given wolves' folkloric compulsive hailing of the full moon by howling at it (not actually, but were talking in the context of myth here), is there a lunar versus lupine power struggle being personified and commented on that could be the reason that a monster wolf wants to eliminate our silver satellite? And then so is Skoll just wanting more active time by eating Sunna since wolves are not diurnal? These motivations are something to think about adding to the spectrum of their reasons as being more than just celestial hungers.
Guillermo Maytorena IV knew there was something special in the Norse Lore when he picked up a copy of the d'Aulaires' Norse Gods and Giants at age seven. Since then he's been fascinated by the truthful potency of Norse Mythology, passionately read & studied, embraced Ásatrú, launched the Map of Midgard project, and spearheaded the neologism/brand NorsePlay.
