my wild red Thor beats any flush of jötnar cards.

Ragnarok: Destiny of the Gods offers a 65-card deck with edutaining facts on Norse Mythology that are playable as six different games. Now that's alot of NorsePlay. Any of you dealt some hands of this yet? [created by Reynir A. NorsePlay requests Wardruna perform in Tucson.

Image
NorsePlay would like to take a moment to use its massive social media pull to insist Wardruna add a Tucson date to their 2018 North American tour. You could easily slip us in that week between Boulder and Nantes. If you come we will buy you horns of Tucson's incomparable world-class craft beer. the wolf coverbomb's Sleipnir's book.

Linda Evans' Sleipnir appears to be Dirty Harry one-liner meets Rambo. Any of you read this NorsePlay? NorsePlay within the World Of Darkness.

Odin gives his blessing & blood to Caine in this Vampire: The Dark Ages supplement, Wolves of the Sea ! In the mostly Abrahamic context of White Wolf's tabletop RPG, we always wondered if there was a pocket of Norse Lore still undead in within its dark history. the Rhine flows through Tucson.

Since NorsePlay's in Tucson, we're taking a moment to mention Arizona Opera 's putting on Das Rheingold , Wagner's classic remix of Norse Mythology. the automata of Thor's wyrd.

Image
Jǫrmungandr versus Thor backgrounded by a Viking ship automata crashing through the waves.  This may be an implicative NorsePlay that their essential conflict drives the motion of the ocean, both through his storms and the serpent's underwater writhing, and/or his three drinks that start the tides and the serpent being nearly picked up to set the sea to tremble. the tourism of NorsePlay.

A clever reader NorsePlay'd their selection with the subject itself: A copy of Larry Millett's Sherlock Holmes and the Rune Stone Mystery visits Kensington Rune Stone Park! Any of you read this, and if so, what does sleuthing Holmes conclude about the runestone? The Little Norse Prince anime.

Image
We just ran across this 1968 anime, The Little Norse Prince . Later re-released as The Great Adventure of Horus, Prince of the Sun , we read its Norse context is apparently window dressing for some Ainu themes, but there's a Völsunga Saga style sword that must be pulled , and later reforged. Any of you seen this? If so, is it NorsePlay enough? #    #    # Guillermo Maytorena IV knew there was something special in  the Norse Lore when he picked up a copy of the d'Aulaires'  Norse Gods and Giants  at age seven. Suzy Bishop as Freyja.

Image
Perhaps this is our Heathen Worldview's magic binoculars at work, but we see alot of NorsePlay within Moonrise Kingdom 's Suzy Bishop. She's a thoughtful Huginn-esque raven, she wears a transformative bird costume like Freyja, she goes berserkergang and stabs a kid in the lumbar with lefty scissors, starts fighting with some girl in her classroom (war goddess), disagrees vehemently with her family over their possessive intentions (i.e. giving her to the giants for trade at certain points in the Lore), travels with a cat ( Bygul/Trjegul ), willingly suffers for her jewelry (the painful piercing for new earrings scene/Freyja's bargain for Brísingamen), and wanders fearlessly into the wilderness to search for her love (Sam/Óðr). Wes Anderson & Roman Coppola, have we caught you at something Eddaic? #    #    # Guillermo Maytorena IV knew there was something special in  the Norse Lore when he picked up a copy of the d'Aulaires'  Norse Gods and Giants  ...

just shut your mouth, squirrel.

Image
An interpretive overlay for Ratatoskr might be that if his function is to carry messages of enmity between two cosmic creatures that are forces of destruction, then the squirrel's not just a mere harpy, he's also a manifestation of social destruction by disreputation. The erosive slander he carries from top to bottom and back again along Yggdrasil only serves to fans the flames of societal breakdown. Maybe our cosmic squirrel isn't so cute after all? bigfoot is actually a troll.

Image
Njord Kane's Spangenhelm quotes an anonymous author who speculates that Bigfoot/Sasquatch can be identified as Trolls, and that they are vibrational extra-dimensional entities in nature, which is why physical evidence has been hard to collect and why the sound of church bells pains them so. It's a pretty interesting train of thought that fills in something within Norse Cosmology. [4/10/2020 Addendum: Since originally posting this, the  Spangenhelm  website's gone down.
